The Front Yard as an Arrival
Curved paver driveway with a ribbon border, layered foundation beds, and placed Japanese maples.
The front yard is the first room of the house, and most people furnish it last. This one was designed as an arrival: a curved paver driveway with a contrasting ribbon border, foundation beds layered low-to-tall so the house grows out of the planting, and Japanese maples placed to give the green some weight and seasonal color. The ribbon border isn't decoration — it frames the driveway and locks the paver field tight at the edge, which is exactly where pavement starts to fail. Design and engineering doing the same job, so the entrance looks composed and holds up for years.
